You will receive communication on Wednesday’s Operation status tomorrow.
Dear Team,
As we keep an eye out for Hurricane Milton, it’s essential for us to prioritize safety and preparedness. Hurricanes can pose significant risks, and being well-prepared can make a critical difference for ourselves and our loved ones. Please take the time to review the following comprehensive guidelines to ensure we are all ready:
1. Emergency Kits
Prepare an emergency kit that includes:
Water: At least one gallon per person per day for three days.
Non-perishable Food: A supply for at least three days, including canned goods, granola bars, and dried fruits.
Medications: A supply of any necessary prescription medications, along with a first aid kit.
Flashlights and Batteries: Make sure they are in working order, along with extra batteries.
Important Documents: Keep copies of critical documents (IDs, insurance policies, etc.) in a waterproof container.
2. Stay Informed
Stay updated with reliable sources regarding the storm’s status:
Weather Apps: Download and set up alerts on your smartphone.
Local News: Monitor local news stations for real-time updates and guidance.
Emergency Alerts: Sign up for local emergency alerts if you haven’t already.
3. Communication
Effective communication is vital during this time. Please:
Check Your Email Daily and Employee intranet: We will provide updates on the status of building operations and any changes to work schedules. HR Manager will send the daily email update.
4. Evacuation Plans
Familiarize yourself with evacuation routes and procedures:
Plan Transportation: Ensure your vehicle is ready and that you have a full tank of gas if evacuation becomes necessary.
Shelters: Make sure you know where the nearest available shelter is located. See the SHELTERS list attached.
5. Safety Protocols
When a hurricane is approaching, prioritize safety:
Stay Indoors: If advised to stay in place, do so until authorities declare it safe.
Avoid Flooded Areas: Stay clear of flooded streets and never drive through flooded roads.
6. Preparing the Workplace
In addition to personal safety, it’s important to prepare our workplace:
Secure Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that all equipment is secured and that sensitive materials are protected from potential water damage.
