Ash Management Building Electrical Compliance Audit

⚙️ Ash Management Building Electrical Compliance Audit

Client: Confidential (Industrial Utility Client)

Location: [City, State]

Scope: Electrical Code Compliance Review & Condition Assessment

Discipline: Electrical Engineering | Compliance | Risk Mitigation

🔍 Project Summary

ECF Engineering Consultants was retained to perform a comprehensive electrical system audit of the Ash Management Building, with a specific focus on compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) standards. This review was critical for ensuring both code compliance and operational safety within a regulated industrial environment.

✅ Scope of Services

ECF’s licensed electrical engineers conducted a full facility walkdown, evaluating both the installation integrity and safety performance of exposed and concealed raceway systems. The goal was to verify that installations adhered to all applicable building and electrical codes, particularly in high-risk environments like ash handling operations.

Key inspection elements included:

  • Raceway routing and support

  • Lighting control devices (switches, motion sensors)

  • Receptacles and outlet placements

  • Electrical control panels and disconnects

  • E-stop devices and safety shutdown locations

  • Emergency lighting functionality

  • Fire alarm pull stations and strobe integration

In addition to the code review, ECF produced a separate PE-stamped report identifying:

  • Maintenance deficiencies

  • Equipment wear or degradation

  • Exposure-related deterioration of electrical components

📄 Deliverables

  • PE-stamped NEC/OSHA/NERC compliance report, detailing all deficiencies, code violations, and corrective recommendations.

  • Maintenance condition report, highlighting actionable items for safety, performance, and longevity improvements.

  • Visual documentation and field-verified system mapping for future asset management.
