🔋 Project Overview 

ECF Engineering Consultants provided comprehensive engineering services for the design and construction of a new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facility in Okeechobee, Florida. The project supports regional sustainability goals and the growing demand for EV infrastructure in public and municipal spaces. 

The scope included the full-service design and permitting of the site, encompassing civil layout, structural support systems, and robust electrical infrastructure for both Level 2 and Level 3 fast charging capabilities. 

📐 Scope of Work 

🛠️ Multidisciplinary Design 

ECF served as the engineer of record, delivering a coordinated set of civil, structural, and electrical construction documents, including: 

• Electrical Systems Design 

  • Installation of five (5) dual-port Level 2 chargers and one (1) dual-port Level 3 fast charger 

  • Designed a 600A, 480V main distribution panelboard 

  • Included a 150 kVA, 480-208Y/120V step-down transformer 

  • Designed a 500A, 208V secondary distribution panelboard 

• Civil & Site Coordination 

  • EV parking layout, ADA compliance, trenching, conduit routing, and concrete mounting pads 

  • Stormwater and grading considerations for charging station placement 

• Structural Support 

• Foundation and support design for chargers, canopy (if applicable), and panelboards 

• Permitting & Stakeholder Coordination 

  • Worked closely with Okeechobee County staff to align the design with zoning and utility requirements 

  • Delivered design packages used for bidding, permitting, and final construction documentation
