Surpassing 200,000 Packaged Meals Goal

Updated: Oct 1

Hosted by the Palm Beach County Foodbank

Did you know that September is Hunger Action Month? At the recent 200,000 Day of Meals event hosted at the Kravis Center, our dedicated staff members took action to make a significant impact in the fight against hunger. The event aimed to pack 200,000 meals for those in need, but due to the dedication of volunteers throughout the day, we surpassed this goal by 30,000 meals.

The afternoon was filled with positive energy, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose as community leaders gathered to roll up their sleeves and got to work. From scooping and measuring pasta noodles to sealing and packing the meals, every volunteer played a crucial role in making this event a success. ECF Staff also contributed 44 jars of peanut butter to their Peanut Butter Drive as "it is a fantastic source of nutrition, comprising about 25% protein, making it an excellent plant-based protein source."

Not only did volunteers help surpass the meal-packing goal, but they also showcased the strength of collective action and community spirit. Through this initiative, we will be able to create a huge impact on the lives of numerous individuals dealing with food insecurity.

We're excited to carry forward this momentum in our ongoing efforts to support those in need and make meaningful contributions to our community.

Thank you to Doddy Ervondy, Maxwell Caines, Kristal Fennell, Stephanie Sherels, Nad Christophe, and Chelsea Beckton for becoming Hunger Heroes and volunteering your time.
